Road to Rio
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the teachers and pupils of Busby Primary School on their challenge to improve fitness by walking or running one mile each day; commends the PE teacher, Laura Kerr, who, it understands, has got each class to commit to collectively walk or run 5,893 miles, which is the distance between Busby and Rio de Janeiro, in honour of the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil; believes that this initiative is proving popular with pupils, and encourages other schools to consider the initiative to improve fitness levels in children.
