The motion

That the Parliament notes that the annual international Transgender Day of Remembrance takes place on 20 November; notes that the aim of the day is to raise public awareness of hate crimes against transgender people as well as to honour those who have lost their lives as a result of transphobia; further notes that the day was founded in 1999 by Gwendolyn Ann Smith, and acknowledges the work carried out by the Scottish Transgender Alliance, which strives for everyone in Scotland to be safe and valued whatever their gender identity and to have full freedom in their gender expression, and other transgender rights organisations.
