Motion · S4M-15117 · 9 Dec 2015
National Postal Workers’ Day, 14 December
The motion
That the Parliament notes that 14 December, which it understands is the day on which the greatest volume of items are posted during any year, has been designated National Postal Workers Day; congratulates the CWU trade union on this initiative and notes that an online petition is to be launched on that day in 2015 to support The People’s Post Campaign; considers this to be an important contribution to the debate around the future of postal services in the UK, the threat of competition and the role of the postal regulator; urges support for the petition at supportthepeoplespost.co.uk, and wishes all postal workers and their families a peaceful and happy Christmas.
