Congratulations to the Devil's Porridge
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates everyone at the museum, the Devil’s Porridge, which is in Eastriggs, Dumfriesshire, on it being awarded £94,300 by the Heritage Lottery Fund; notes that it recounts the story of HM Factory Gretna, which manufactured munitions during World War One and employed nearly 12,000 women; understands that the award will be used to create new displays for the first floor that will focus on the social and military history of the coastal area from the Second World War onwards, and believes that the museum makes a valuable contribution to the Dumfriesshire economy and to promoting the history of the area.
