No Smoking Day 2016
The motion
That the Parliament celebrates No Smoking Day, which takes place on 9 March 2016; considers this a great opportunity for people to stop smoking and get help for when they want to stop; welcomes the national focus of No Smoking Day, which aims to promote and publicise the health benefits and financial savings associated with quitting smoking; looks forward to events being planned in communities across the country, including East Renfrewshire, where the council’s Smokefree Community Services team will be undertaking a range of activities to mark the day; congratulates everyone who has kicked the habit to lead a healthier lifestyle, and hopes that many more will take the opportunity to stop smoking.
