Glasgow to Host the 2007 UEFA Cup Final
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Scottish Football Association and Glasgow City Council on securing the UEFA Cup final which will take place at the National Stadium, Hampden Park, in May 2007; notes that this follows the outstanding success of the UEFA Champions League final, held at the same venue in 2002, which generated £25 million for the economy of Greater Glasgow; recognises Glasgow’s status as an internationally renowned city and home for major international sporting events, and looks forward to the city hosting further events in the future, such as the Commonwealth Games.
