Journalists in Iraq
The motion
That the Parliament recognises the bravery of journalists currently working in Iraq; further recognises the invaluable role played by the journalists in ensuring that what is actually happening in Iraq is relayed to the rest of world; acknowledges that since the invasion of Iraq, which many consider to have been illegal, over 40 journalists and media assistants have been kidnapped and that, in total, more journalists have been killed than UK soldiers, and fully supports the recent decision of the National Union of Journalists at its annual conference that there should be a complete, immediate and unconditional withdrawal of coalition forces from Iraq.
