Sport Your Trainers 2012

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes Sport Your Trainers, a campaign led by the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games Organising Committee, which encourages people and organisations from all over Scotland and across the Commonwealth to wear their trainers on Commonwealth Day, 12 March 2012; supports the campaign’s positive message, which urges individuals to pledge to undertake a healthy challenge, whether something simple such as taking the stairs rather than the lift or something more demanding such as running a marathon; hopes that the campaign will continue to raise awareness of the Games and of the importance of an active lifestyle, and wishes those making pledges all the best in completing their challenges.
