Dumfries Ice Bowl to Host Major Curling Championships
The motion
That the Parliament notes that the World Mixed Doubles and Men’s and Women’s Senior Curling Championships are to be held in April 2014 at the Ice Bowl in Dumfries; understands that around 60 teams are expected to compete; believes that the championships will provide a major boost to the local economy as well as further enhance the reputation of Dumfries as a world-class curling venue; congratulates everyone involved in bringing these major championships to Dumfries, and considers this a fitting tribute to an area that continues to produce so many world-class curlers.
