Isle of Whithorn's Big Lottery Fund Success
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Isle Futures on receiving £940,222 from the Big Lottery Fund's Investing in Communities scheme; understands that this substantial grant will be used to benefit the Isle of Whithorn community by developing the community-owned St Ninian’s Hall to double the floor space and include a tearoom, village shop and post office, public toilets and storage facilities; believes that this will be a significant asset to both the local community and to the 15-20,000 people who visit this picturesque fishing village annually; understands that the project will create employment and volunteering opportunities in this rural community, and warmly congratulates all those involved in securing this significant award.
