Unity Enterprise, North Ayrshire Carers Centre, Irvine
The motion
That the Parliament recognises the work of Unity Enterprise, a Scottish inter-church charity founded in 1989; notes that staff from the North Ayrshire Carers Centre in Irvine support unpaid carers throughout North Ayrshire, including the islands of Arran and Cumbrae, by delivering practical and emotional assistance to clients and support to carers between the ages of eight and 18 whose lives are affected by parental alcohol misuse or drug misuse, mental or physical illness or disability; considers that this support also provides reassurance and encouragement to carers; congratulates all those involved, and recognises the charity's commitment to carers, whom it considers unsung heroes and heroines.
