Sir Tom Hunter
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the entrepreneur from New Cumnock, Sir Tom Hunter, who will be awarded the Carnegie Medal of Philanthropy at a ceremony in the Parliament on 17 October 2013 and considers that Sir Tom Hunter has been inspiring young entrepreneurs in Ayrshire through both The Hunter Foundation, set up by Sir Tom and his wife, Lady Marion, which supports educational and entrepreneurial projects, and the support from Entrepreneurial Spark, in particular the West Coast Hatchery in Dundonald, where pupils from local secondary schools have had the opportunity to pitch their business ideas to a panel of business leaders, council officials and Sir Tom.
