£5 Million for War Memorials
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the news that £5 million from Libor banking fines are to be allocated to the support and restoration of First World War memorials; notes that the money is for UK and overseas memorials and also includes funds for educational resources; acknowledges that every community in the country was affected by the Great War, and considers that war memorials should be a place of education and respect for those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
