Motion · S4M-11248 · 20 Oct 2014
Trustees' Week 2014
The motion
That the Parliament acknowledges that 10 to 16 November is Trustees' Week 2014; notes that this is the fifth annual celebration of trusteeship, which seeks to highlight what it considers the great work that trustees do and encourage people to become trustees; understands that trustees come from a wide variety of backgrounds, volunteering their time and experience to the operation and governance of Scotland’s charities, working hard to make decisions about a charity's finances, activities and plans for the future; believes that this is a considerable responsibility and thanks hundreds of trustees in the West Scotland parliamentary region and throughout the country for their efforts; considers, however, that Scotland’s charities need more people to volunteer as trustees, and hopes that Trustees' Week 2014 will inspire people to become involved.
