CLIC Sargent, Coping with Cancer
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates CLIC Sargent on its recent report, Coping with Cancer, and the work that it does with children, young people and their families; believes that, every day in the UK, 10 children and young people are given the news of a diagnosis of cancer that will change their lives forever; considers that, although treatment normally starts immediately, it often takes place many miles from home and can last for extensive periods up to as much as three years; concurs with the report's findings that accessing a mix of quality information, support and advice that is person-centred, from face-to-face support to an online community approach, helps children and young people with a cancer diagnosis to be more resilient and cope better in their journey through treatment; welcomes the efforts of CLIC Sargent in seeking to achieve effective approaches to building resilience in children and young people; congratulates CLIC Sargent on what it considers its excellent research and report findings, and wishes it success in the future.
