The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Down’s Syndrome Scotland Central Branch on reaching its 30th anniversary; notes that the branch provides advice and support to families of people with Down’s Syndrome; believes that the branch also runs events to offer people with the condition the opportunity to socially interact with one another; understands that, in addition to its regular services, the charity often runs outings and party nights and that people of all ages attend these groups; welcomes the emphasis on inclusion at the heart of Down’s Syndrome Scotland Central Branch and praises the organisation for recognising the contribution of people with Down’s Syndrome to Scotland's communities; strongly believes that the growth and success of the group would not have been possible without the contribution of the chairwoman, Irene Barr, who has been involved with the charity since it was formed in 1984, and wishes all those involved well in the future.
