The motion

That the Parliament welcomes a newly published report from Mackay Consultants, which suggests that the 2014 Belladrum Tartan Heart music festival near Beauly generated almost £6.6 million for the Scottish economy, of which more than £4 million benefitted the local economy; considers that this year’s two-day festival, which attracted around 17,000 people and included performances from the likes of Sir Tom Jones and Razorlight, was a great success; congratulates all those involved in organising the festival, including Joe and Leonie Gibbs; considers that this is now prestigious and well-established part of Scotland’s music festival offering and important to both the local and national economy, and looks forward to and wishes every success to next year’s festival, which will take place on 6 to 8 August 2015.
