Motion · S4M-12659 · 13 Mar 2015
British Transport Police
The motion
That the Parliament notes that the Smith Commission agreed to recommend devolving responsibility in Scotland for the British Transport Police (BTP) to the Parliament but made no reference about the absorption of the BTP into Police Scotland, and believes that there should be full consultation before any organisational change is made and that there should be guarantees on funding, structures, accountability, legal jurisdiction, staffing and service levels before the UK Government transfers responsibility.
