Maitland Mackie Scholarship
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the first recipient of the Maitland Mackie scholarship, David Burr; understands that the programme was set up by Maitland Mackie, the late businessman and farmer, who was an active advocate for the renewable energy sector; notes that David is a physics graduate and plans to study for an MSc in renewable energy engineering at the University of Aberdeen; further notes what it sees as the importance of renewable energy in ensuring Scotland’s sustainability, and calls on more young people to explore a career in the renewable energy sector.
