Motion · S4M-14631 · 27 Oct 2015
Tobacco-Free Schools
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates ASH Scotland and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde on their initiative, Tobacco-Free Schools – Helping You Achieve It, which was launched in September 2015; is pleased to note that this initiative is designed to help meet the curriculum for excellence experiences and outcomes; is dismayed at reports that two thirds of smokers start before the age of 18 and one third before the age of 16, and considers that this is an extremely useful guidance statement to help Scotland's schools reduce and eventually eradicate smoking on their premises.
