Sunset Song Film Launch
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the cast and creative team of the film, Sunset Song, which premiered in Scotland on 11 November 2015 at the Edinburgh Filmhouse in partnership with Edinburgh International Film Festival; acknowledges that the production will also be shown at Glasgow and Aberdeen; notes that the film adapts the classic Scottish novel by Lewis Grassic Gibbon; believes that the filming locations celebrate the stunning scenery of the north east of Scotland; welcomes the accompanying map that both illustrates these Aberdeenshire locations and encourages people to visit; further welcomes its use of the Doric dialect, which it believes helps highlight the rich heritage of the area, and sends best wishes to everyone involved with the film ahead of its general release on 4 December.
