Neighbourhood Food Collection
The motion
That the Parliament notes the Neighbourhood Food Collection, which will be run by the Trussell Trust and Tesco from 3 to 5 December 2015; understands that members of the public will be asked to donate food for families and people across the UK; notes that the Dumfriesshire Foodbank has reported that, since it opened in March 2015, it has fed 459 adults and 136 children; believes that the numbers of people requiring foodbanks will increase during the winter; regrets that so many people are in need of these services, but congratulates the trust and its volunteers and donors in Dumfriesshire and across Scotland on their efforts to help people in crisis.
