The motion

That the Parliament notes with concern the finding in the Oxfam report, An Economy for the 1%, which was published on 18 January 2016, that 62 individuals have the same wealth as the poorest 3.6 billion people in the world; notes the finding that the wealth of the richest 62 individuals has increased by $542 billion since 2010 while that of the poorest 3.6 billion people has fallen by $1 trillion; further understands that, in Scotland, the wealthiest 10% own 44% of all wealth, and considers the growing wealth inequality across Scotland, the UK, and the rest of the world to be a pressing concern in need of immediate redress.
