Outfit Moray to Build a Centre for Outside Learning

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the move by the Innes Trading Company owner, Mark Tennant, who has handed over 100 acres of land and buildings to help Outfit Moray build a centre for outdoor learning; understands that Outfit Moray has worked with more than 14,000 children and young people over the past 13 years, helping to build their confidence, self-esteem and resilience; considers that the lease of a large proportion of the former airfield near Elgin, for a token rent of £1 per annum for the next 35 years, makes this £2 million project to build a community outdoor learning and adventure hub possible; believes that this project, which is expected to be delivered by January 2017, will benefit children and young people in Moray and across Scotland, and praises the example that it considers Mark Tennant and Innes Estate have established in showing how landowners can work in partnership with community and charitable groups to provide significant benefits to a local area.
