The motion

That the Parliament recognises that the city of Carlisle is an important regional centre for part of the south of Scotland, providing work, medical services, leisure and shopping; notes with concern the serious flooding experienced in the city in recent days resulting in loss of life, damage to property and disruption to services, and thanks all those from emergency services and voluntary organisations from Scotland who have assisted in the rescue efforts and the subsequent clean-up operation.
