Transforming Tayside Children’s Hospital
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the launch of the Archie Foundation’s fundraising appeal, supported by The Courier, to raise £2 million for the development of a new world-class children’s operating theatre suite at Tayside Children’s Hospital; notes that NHS Tayside has announced that it will spend £4 million constructing and staffing two new state-of-the-art paediatric operating theatres; understands that this new campaign will raise the money required to transform the unit through child-friendly surroundings and specialised staff and equipment; believes that this is an important step toward ensuring that all children are treated in age-appropriate hospital environments that comfort them and provide the best possible support to their families; encourages people to support the appeal in any way that they can, and hopes that the Archie Foundation and The Courier are successful in achieving the fundraising target, making a real difference to the lives of thousands of young children each year.
