Scottish Young Consumers of the Year 2015

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the team from Ayr Academy that won the Scottish Young Consumers of the Year 2015 final and wishes them luck as they represent Scotland in the UK final in London on 24 June; commends the Trading Standards Institute for continuing to organise what it considers this important event and Citizens Advice Scotland on its role as a sponsor and partner of the competition; considers the competition an excellent way to equip young people with the knowledge and confidence to exercise their rights and responsibilities; notes that the competition tests a variety of consumer-related topics, including consumer rights and social responsibility, how to make healthy and environmentally friendly lifestyle choices, issues around credit, debt and money management and European and travel law, and recognises the hard work of all the teams from across Scotland that took part in the Scottish Young Consumers competition.
