Older People's Day 2015
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes Older People’s Day, on 1 October 2015, as an opportunity to celebrate the valuable contribution of older people to society, families and communities across Scotland; notes the number of organisations and individuals actively supporting Older People’s Day and welcomes the many initiatives, including the Get up and Go video by physiotherapists in the north east and across Scotland and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, which promotes active healthy ageing, and believes that older people are an asset to society and it is essential that the ageing population is supported with the means to live independent lives, promote good health and physical activity, prevent ill-health and continue to contribute to society.
