Darvel Remembers Sir Alexander Fleming

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Community Council of Darvel on its organisation of events which remember the life of Sir Alexander Fleming who was born at Lochfield Farm, Darvel, in 1881, discovered penicillin in 1928, was knighted in 1943, was awarded the Nobel Prize for Medicine in 1945 and died on 11 March 1955 and whose work as a research biologist continues to save lives across the world today.
